Open the Door

This piece developed in stages.  It is close to my heart.  I think because following my dream took quite a while for me to figure out.  Like peeling an onion, layer by layer.  This piece will be available in my etsy shop.

Is it really summer?

Okay, with the heat we have been having yes, I know it is summer but I still haven't experienced summer yet.  Last week I had to finish packing up my art rooms for the summer and started a class.  This class is intense.   I know it will improve my teaching, but I want a break.  The pics are from today.  Took a short walk around the yard.  Trying to just see the beauty and not all the projects that I would like to get done this summer.

Radial Designs

This will be my last school post.  School is officially over, though I still have some grades to do, two rooms to clean up and a class I am taking starting next week.  These photos are from my 4th grade class.  They learned about radial designs and used knowledge from a previous lesson on blending to create their artwork.  For an extension of this lesson we went outside and created radial designs in groups using chalk.  Messy, fun and great review.

Flying

Starting to fly....taking a class right now with Kelly Rae Roberts called Flying Lessons.  This class has gotten me back on track with my own art.  My fingers are itching to create and I am starting to realize the possibilities for growing my business.  Thank you to all my fellow classmates for stopping by and commenting.

Color

Have been saving bottle caps at school this year.  Will be making a mural with students in the fall.  Just love all the colors after they were sorted.  Michelle Stitzlein has a great site for ideas.  http://www.artgrange.com/michelleworkshop.html

Six More Days

Wow, the end of the school year is almost here.  Spent 3 hours grading today.  Glad to have most of it done.  Looking forward to re-organizing supplies and re-arranging my art rooms.  Looking forward to my own time.  Doing artwork, gardening, cooking, studying, reading, vacationing.....freedom.

Changes

What changes are you looking to make this year?  Be it something like losing weight, finding a new job or starting a meditation practice,...
