4th graders have been looking at abstract art. They used liquid watercolors with droppers to create their paint splatters. In the next class they used a fine tip permanent marker and outlined the paint paying attention to where there where color changes. I love the colors that were created and how the marker makes this stand out.

This is an awesome way to teach abstract art. I always tell the kids that you can see things you might recognize in abstract art, but someone else will see something completely different. I have been using liquid watercolors this year and the kids love them.
ReplyDeleteGreat results- I bet the kids loved seeing the new colours that resulted from the mixing.
